Cambridge has more than one kind of festive market outing. The main season-long event in this guide is Christmas in Cambridge on Parker’s Piece, running from 13 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. Wooden chalets, food and drink sit alongside bookable attractions including the ice rink and Big Wheel. General entry is free, while individual experiences have their own prices and availability. Choose any paid activity first, then leave an unhurried gap around it for browsing and a warm drink.
Parker’s Piece is the place for the Alpine-style Christmas event. Its organiser lists independent traders and festive street food, including Yorkshire pudding wraps, hot chocolate and mulled wine. The named 2026 trader list is still due, so this guide describes those published categories without promising a particular business. Check the current menu and ask stallholders about allergens before ordering. Attraction opening and session times can differ from the overall site hours, especially around the holiday period.
There are two distinct additions to consider. The volunteer-run Mill Road Winter Fair is confirmed for Saturday 5 December 2026, from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Treat it as a separate community fair with its own programme and route. In the historic centre, Cambridge Market on Market Hill is a year-round council market rather than another branch of the Parker’s Piece Christmas event. The council publishes regular trading from 10am to 4pm, excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Choose one of these additions if you have time, rather than trying to cover the whole city between booked sessions. Keep your return journey in mind and let the evening lights be a pleasure instead of a deadline.
